The Gateway LT2106u is a 3G netbook being retailed by Verizon Wireless. It utilizes Qualcomm’s world-wide Gobi technology to deliver 3G data from Verizon. This means that to access the data, a contractual obligation to Verizon is required; this, however, results in a discount off the supposed $499.99 retail price. At the moment, the going price for 5GB of monthly data is expected to be as high as $60. Additional features include an Intel Atom N270 processor, a 10.1” inch display with a 1024x600 resolution, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 160GB hard-disc drive. Other expected components include a card reader, WiFi, and a lifespan of 6 hours.
