Pros
- Great screen resolution, not cramped at all.
- Keyboard sized generously.
- Vista Basic is very stable with the unusually higher specs on this netbook.
- Sturdy construction, solid hinges and buttons, trackpad is responsive and has good gesture support.
- Spec mostly above the curve... 1.2Ghz proc, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, Vista, discrete graphics at 1366x768.
- This really should be classified as a subnetbook... without an optical drive.
- Has VGA output, three USB 2.0 ports, and a multi-card reader for all memory cards except CompactFlash and mini/micro cards.
- Weight for it's size is acceptable. Not ultra-light at 3 lbs (ASUS Eee PC's and HP's Mini's are easily lighter), but not the heaviest netbook I've held.
Cons
- Battery Life isn't generous to anything past two hours.
- Radeon X1270 isn't useful for gaming at all (unless it's two dimensional).
- Processor is an off-roadmap Athlon 64... Doesn't support Cool 'n Quiet or scaling by default. Linux runs at full blast and drains your battery.
- Heat dissipation isn't well designed... you'll need something between your lap and the base of this laptop if you use it longer than an hour.
- Webcam is weak... VGA resolution or less.
- Lid isn't particularly easy to open... no pop-latch or lid lock when it's closed.
- For this price, some low-spec laptops at this cost may be more capable if not just as good as this netbook. Size and Portability would be the division point between the two options.
