The Gateway NV5929u is a mid-range notebook laptop somewhat similar to the Gateway NV5928u. Featuring a more powerful Intel Core i5-430M processor (as opposed to the NV5928u's Core i3-330M), the NV5929u also features a smaller 320GB hard drive than the NV5928u's 500GB and a less powerful Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD GPU (as opposed to the NV5928u's ATI Radeon HD 5470).

Otherwise, the NV5929u and NV5928u share many of the same features which are prevalent among Gateway's NV Series of laptops, including: a 15.6" LED backlit display, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, an 802.11b/g/n WLAN card and a 6-cell lithium-ion battery.
The NV5929u's Intel Core i5 processor provides a good balance of processing power and power consumption, allowing for moderate to heavy multitasking while also allowing for a 4 1/2 hour battery life. Its Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD provides the NV5929u with the ability to play high definition media files at 720p via its 15.6" LED display or at 1080p when connected to a compatible monitor via HDMI. Additionally, the NV5929u's 15.6" LED backlit display provides superior colour depth and contrast over typical LCD displays while also requiring less energy.
