Gateway NV59C46u

$600.00 Released June, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Fast enough to handle multiple windows without lag. Enough storage space on the hard drive for most needs. Enough graphics processing for casual gaming.

The Cons:Keyboard is a little flimsy, keys tend to malfunction after awhile. Repairs, even under warranty, often result in needing to pay for delivery of products.

The NV59C46u, available in three colors, is a lower-end option in Gateway's NV59C Series of mainstream 15.6" consumer laptops. Unlike most of the models, which utilize Intel Core i3 or i5 CPUs, the NV59C46u relies on a slower Intel Pentium dual-core processor running at 1.86GHz.

It is a minor step up from the entry-level model, featuring 500GB rather than 320GB of storage space. Other features are shared by all NV59C models, including an HDMI output for easily displaying HD content on a larger panel, built-in Wi-Fi, and a "social networks button" which simplifies access to Facebook, Flickr, and YouTube. LED backlighting helps extend battery life to 4 hours while improving screen brightness.
