Giant Rapid 1

The Giant Rapid 1 is an ultra-affordable mountain/racing bicycle designed for the budget-conscious rider. As an upgrade from the original Rapid 2, the Giant Rapid 1 features a long-lasting Shimano compact Tiagra Crankset. The crankset includes an integrated bottom bracket with increased rigidity for a more optimal power transfer. Included also are Shimano M505 pedals, which are clipless on one side and platforms on the other — useful for a quick trip to the store and a local single track. The last improvement on the model is the Mavic CXP22 rim/wheelset. At its core is high-quality ALUXX SL aluminum tubing. The ALUXX SL tubing is formed from raw materials and features 30% additional stiffness over traditional 6061 series aluminum, allowing engineers to use less materials throughout the tubes, which in return results in a lighter frame that doesn't sacrifice strength or durability. Note also the strength (extrusion), weight reduction (butting), and shape (forming).
