The Gibson ES-355 is the highest quality thin line semi-acoustic guitar made by Gibson, originally made from 1958-1982, although it is again available throught the Gibson custom shop. The 355 is based on the
ES-335, and is similar in appearance except for a split diamond inlay in the head stock, square inlays as fret markers and had a binding along the neck. The 355 came with a Bigsby or Vibrola tremolo unit, offered stereo output and Varitone control, with two output jacks on the lower butt (known as the ES-355TD-SV). The ES-355 was exensively used by B.B. King, particularly with his custom made guitar Lucille.
