Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4P

The GA-EP45-DS4P is an ATX-form motherboard from Gigabyte, using the Intel P45 chipset architecture.  It supports up to 16GB of DDR2 1333+ SDRAM.  The DSP4 uses dual PCI-E slots for high-end ATI CrossfireX graphics.  The board has a built-in Trusted Platform Module chip, a set of software instructions that prevents unauthorized access to both hardware and software systems.  The TPM system encrypts stored data and system information and can only decrypt it when supplied with the correct password.  The TPM system is used in conjunction with the BitLocker Drive Encryption utilized in Windows Vista, as well as a number of other software applications (including Digital Rights Management).  The DSP4 also features on-board diagnostic LEDs, allowing for quick identification of hardware malfunctions.  For further information, please see the Intel P45 Chipset report.

Guys/Gals.........This motherboard is truly spectacular for everything else except for crossfire solutions. I had to learn it the hard way, that is after purchasing it. This mobo only has one true 16x pci-e, and the 2nd pci-e is 8x [check the gigabyte website for confirmation to my findings if you like]. I bought two sapphire HD4850 cards hoping to crossfire but sadly i cannot get the full bandwidth of a true dual 16x crossfire. For those of you with similar config i suggest X38 / X48 chipped boards ONLY!!!
