Gigabyte Q2532N
$899.00
Released March, 2011
The Pros:Low price tag for an Intel Sandy Bridge notebook with dedicated graphics card. Good selection of ports with USB3.0 and HDMI outputs. Full size keyboard with numberpad that is comfortable to type on.
The Cons:Below average build quality, uses cheaper plastics, Gigabyte had to cut the manufacturing costs somewhere... Heavier than similar products, weight is closer to that of a desktop replacement. Low resolution display, 1600x900 would have been better for a media notebook.

Additionally, the Q2532N sports stereo speakers, USB 3.0 and HDMI/VGA video outputs.
The Q2532N's Intel Sandy Bridge processor options provide it with more than enough processing power to handle typical day-to-day use while still going easy on battery consumption thanks to their 32nm architecture. Its Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics processor provides the Q2532N with HD video playback as well as the ability to handle DirectX 11 games at moderate to high settings. Meanwhile, the Q2532N's Optimus switching technology automatically switches between integrated and discrete graphics in order to conserve battery life with no performance decrease.
