Google Chrome is a web-browser from Google released on September 2nd, 2008. There are three main areas on which Google intends to improve the browsing experience compared to its more entrenched counterparts: security, anonymity, performance. Under the hood there are new browser models implemented that separate the rendering from the program itself, what this means is that individual pages won't slow down or completely crash the entire browser program. On the performance side Google has implemented their own Javascript rendering engine, called V8 that is reported to be 100 times faster than IE7's. On December 11, 2008 Google removed the "beta" designation with it's version 1.0 launch.
