Gorillapod

A tripod designed to be used anywhere and everywhere. With flexible legs that grip on to almost any surface, the gorillapod can be used anywhere you want to take pictures. The Gorillapod features flexible joints that can move 360 degrees and have strong grips on each ring, which make it possible to hold onto surfaces. The feet feature the same grips, which is how this tripod can grapple around various surfaces. For quick shooting, you can place an attachment on your camera that allows you to simply slide your camera into place on the tripod, which itself has a lock ring to ensure a secure fit. If you have many different cameras, you can buy separate attachments for each.

The Gorillapod comes in 3 sizes, depending on your camera and size.

Original: holds up to 275 grams, ideal for compact and ultra-compact camers

Yeah, this thing is really cool for self-timer photography, and even comes in larger sizes for SLR's and large zoom cameras.

There are three sizes, i have the middle size.

Excellent for Point and shoot, i would imagine the smallest one would work well for most PnS now a days too.

If you have a DSLR i recommend the largest of the 3.
My middle sized one works ok with my DSLR, but since i have an 18-200 lens it has trouble holding it all up when zooming.
