The seventh, and final book in the fantastically popular Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is set to be released on July 21st, 2007. JK Rowling has stated that Deathly Hallows is so closely tied to the Half-Blood Prince that she regards them as two halves to the same novel. Very little is known about this last entry to Harry Potter's time at Hogwarts except that it will contain the final battle between Harry and Lord Voldemort.

Do you agree?

Some plot points didn't get enough attention in the book. Some characters didn't get a fitting end.

They spend to much time camping.

Too many convenient plot devices are used, which can be unsatisfying

It has 3 (I think) different versions! What is this, an iPod?

More information

At the end of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry decides to embark on the quest of finding and destroying Lord Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes. There have been a lot of rumors and "supposed" spoilers, but ultimately no one really knows what will happen or who will die. JK Rowling has stated on her site that she especially wants readers who have grown up with Harry to embark on his last quest without knowing where he is headed.

Some rumors and theories on the net have been corrected by Rowling. For instance, one theory is that at the end of Book 7, Harry and Voldemort will "merge" to form a single persona who can command both the forces of good and evil. Rowling has explicity stated that this event will never happen, seeing that Harry will never wish to be able to command Death Eaters/Demontors/Inferi.

JK Rowling will be doing a huge book signing event on midnight of July 21st, 2007 and will be signing through the night! 1,700 lucky Harry Potter fans will have their books signed by Rowling at the Natural History Museum in London. These fans will receive a free copy of the book, courtesy of Bloomsbury. 500 randomly selected fans will also get the chance to hear Rowling read from the book at midnight.

Furthermore, Bloomsbury has taken extra steps to ensure that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows remains unspoiled until the release date. Copies of the book are being sent out to retailers on Tuesday and the trucks carrying these books will be fitted with satellite tracking systems costing up to 1,000 pounds. These systems are designed to make sure the trucks do not deviate from their prescribed route. The books are also on sealed pallets that are fitted with alarms to prevent any tampering. A Bloomsbury spokeperson has also stated that they have a litigation specialist poised 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to deal with any breaches. They will be enforcing the embargo vigorously and will seek an immediate injunction if required. Experts have estimated the cost of all this at around 10 million pounds, but this is not surprising considering the popularity of the Harry Potter books.

Major cities and bookstores across the world are releasing the book with huge book party launches so be sure to check out the one nearest you!

The U.S. covers are better.

For once, I agree, the US covers are better this time. Sigh. How disappointing.

This one is my favorite one yet! I was kind of sad since this is the last book, but we still have the theme park at Universal Studios to look forward to not to mention Movies 6 and 7. She also said she may write another novel, like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them and Quidditch through the ages, containing stuff that failed to make it in to the books and other things. She has similar stuff posted on her official website. If you get the chance look, it's very interesting. Best book ever!

There will be an interview with JK Rowling on NBC with Meredith on Thursday and Friday's Today Show and Sunday's Dateline.

Hey good news everybody! JK Rowling said she is probably going to write an encyclopedia of stuff that happens to the remaining characters. It will also have backstory that never made it into the books, like Dean Thomas had a pretty interesting story where his Dad was captured by Death Eaters. Go to Mugglenet for more info.

OH WOW! I'm definitely going to be excited about that! I know that she already has quite a list of information that she will probably include in the encyclopedia Some of that stuff is on her website already so be sure to check it out!

I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan like some of you guys, but I've been following the story and make sure to watch all the movies in the theatre. I've never picked up a book though. However this weekend I was staying at a friend's who is a big Potter fan and obviously they had the book (already read). I picked it up and started reading it... and then stayed up ALL night reading the entire book. I guess that goes to show how good it is. For people that are obsessed with the books it must've been awesome. There are some things I don't like how Harry spends 10 chapters not knowing what to do, and then "he just knows". I mean come on! But overall, very enjoyable read!

With respects to Pokemon: "Gotta read 'em all"

Well, that's what makes the Harry Potter books so long! But I actually like the fact that there are so many chapters, I love it when the books are nice and thick! :) I always want to keep reading more!
