The Skullcandy Rocnation Aviator is a product from the collaboration between music artist Jay-Z and Skullcandy. The result is a pair of premium quality (and price) headphones with a distinctive styling inspired by aviator sunglasses. The sound is delivered by a 40mm mylar driver with neodymium magnets. The nylon braided cable should prevent any tangling to the 1.3m long cable. It also has an inline mic enabling the Aviators to be used as a headset for cell phones. The Sony MDR-XB1000 model is a pair of mid-grade around the ear (DJ Style) headphones designed specifically for audiophiles and bass enthusiasts. Unfortunately, as of this writing the MDR-XB1000 headphones are currently only available in Japan with no foreseeable US release date.

The Sony MDR-XB1000 headphone set takes after the low frequency range idea which was integrated into the XB700 model; a lower frequency range (2-30,000Hz) adds "punch to bass" while enhancing the ongoing treble. Each earpiece or "can" houses a large size 70mm driver unit, which Sony claims is the "largest driver they've ever installed into a headset". The MDR-XB1000 headset also includes a maximum sensitivity level of 106dB with a combined impedance rating of 24 ohms.

Based on the one year old top-of-the-line MDR-EX700SL, the MDR-EX300SL is a high-end dynamically driven earbud from Sony. Based on a smaller 13.5mm driver compared to the EX700SL's 16mm version, the EX300SL adopts the same multi-layer diaphragm technology and hybrid silicon tips for a comfortable fit. The Sony MDR-XB41EX is a mid-grade pair of ear-buds are designed to provide a more enhanced treble and bass quality which is delivered through a lower overall frequency response rating. The XB41EX ear-buds are also available in a multitude of various color schemes and body styles which include Black, Red, Blue and Brown.

Like the MDR-XB1000 model headphones, the MDR-XB41EX ear-buds feature a low frequency response range (4Hz-24KHz) which Sony claims will provide a more enhanced sound quality. JVC's HA-S4X is the mid-range model of the 2011 Xtreme Xplosives lineup. It is an on-ear setup and resembles the model above it, the HA-M5X. It has padded earcups for comfort, and a padded headband with a camouflage design, intended to improve comfort over long periods of wear. This model uses 40mm drivers with neodymium magnets, and it is lightweight and portable. The earcups offer some ambient noise isolation. Other features include a red-colored Y-cable, gold-plated 3.5mm jack and a bass port that enhances lower-register clarity. JVC suggests these as a more portable compromise to the larger 50mm-driver model.

The AKG K 403 is a set of basic headphones. These are modeled after the AKG K 402, and have the same features and design elements. Released in late August 2008, the Plantronics Gamecom 777 is a USB headset aimed at gamers. The Sennheiser HD 598 is a premium headphone set inspired by the interior designs of European sports sedans. Though designed to appear elegant, the HD 598 headphone set still incorporates premium-grade technologies. For instance, it uses a DuoFol diaphragm geometry that minimizes inter-mod distortion, allowing for an improved frequency response range between 12 and 38,500 Hz. Also included is EAR technology, which channels audio directly into the user’s ear; a twist-n-lock single sided cable that eliminates tangles; and a greater rest/response time for a more transient audio response. Unfortunately, the HD 598 hosts a very open design, meaning that sound leaks through it very easily.

Philips SHB6017/28 is an upgraded version of the 2010 SHB6000/28 model, with very similar features. The upgrades are in battery life, which is about 200 hours of standby time instead of 120, and wireless distance, as this model works at a range of up to 15 metres. These use Bluetooth 2.1 to connect to a media player or mobile phone, and have integrated mic, track controls and volume. They also interrupt music playback to answer calls. The speakers are angled directly towards the wearer's eardrums, and they have silicon earcups in a variety of sizes to isolate sound and provide comfort. The battery is rechargeable and provides about 4.5 hours of playback. These headphones are sweatproof and washable, making them ideal for athletic use.
