Released in January, 2007 the Hitachi DZGX5020A is a standard definition DVD camcorder. The less expensive brother of the DZGX5080A, the DZGX5020A shoots at 640x480 and records directly onto a DVD. Both models feature the same internal specifications, but the DZGX5080A also includes a built in LED light that makes recording in low light situations easier, as well as a USB2 connectivity option that is absent from this model. The DVD allows for 1 hour of recording time on each side, at standard settings. Still images are restricted by the camcorder's lackluster CCD, producing a maximum image resolution of 640x480 (0.3MP).
