Released in 2007 the Hitachi DZGX5080A is a standard definition DVD camcorder. The more expensive brother of the DZGX5020A, the DZGX5080A shoots at 640x480 and records directly onto a DVD allowing for 1 hour of recording time on each side, at standard settings. Both models feature the same internal specifications, but the DZGX5080A includes a built in LED light that makes recording in low light situations easier. Still images are restricted by the camcorder's lackluster CCD, producing a maximum image resolution of 640x480 (0.3MP). The DZGX5080A also has a USB2 connectivity option.
