Product Shot 2 The drive is built directly into a stand so that it can be placed vertically to save space. The "Plus" adds a 4GB USB key that docks directly onto the LifeStudio drive and can automatically sync data for autonomous portability, since the main drive itself isn't very portable. The drive comes with LifeStudio and Hitachi Backup software for PC and Mac. This gives the drive a 3D interface powered by the Cooliris web browser plugin for browsing and locating files, as well as folder scanning that creates a library of media files. It can also automatically backup and sync select folders or an entire drive, and backups can be scheduled, constant, or restored. The backup can be made to the LifeStudio drive, or into the cloud, as all LifeStudio drives come with free 2GB of online storage, or paid 250GB storage.
