"Nothing surprising here, though the Xbox 360 sold more than I thought it would. But PLEASE people, stop buying Maior Party 8, that was such a bad game. Though this is an interesting for third parties, the most popular console is also the one that doesn't have the consumers who strongly support third parties. But will third parties keep up exclusives for the Wii if they don't sale. I mean, it's kind of embarassing that the Xbox sold more than the Wii in copies of Madden. Still though, the Wii sales are astounding, but DS sales went down didn't they? But nonetheless DS sales were still excellent. PS3: Nothing new here, Sony should do that new SKU $399 thing ASAP to keep up in sales though. PSP and PS2 did decent. Overall the PlayStation Brand did well with about 500,000 in hardware sales, but man, the Wii almost sold as much as the entire PS Brand! Xbox 360: I see that Blue Dragon didn't make it, it kind of lost its fire in the U.S. But Bioshock, Madden, and Two World's (Which was only considered average) did a good job of pushing 360 sales. Now the question for September is how many copies will Halo 3 sell on Day 1? I predict at least 3 Million. But I could easily imagine more."

Well that interview adds confindence to MGS4 staying exclusive, but I think it will be ported if it sells bad. But I kind of wonder about the Wii though. I'm thinking, you can only wave the wii remote so much before it gets boring, but then things like Wii Fit will come along, and be huge, but I don't know. Do you think the Wii's days are numbered or is it here to stay? I'm not sure about either one of those.

If Sqaure Enix and Konami hold on to the PS3, than the 2008 Release Schedule will be impressive. Still though, Sony probably cares about the Format War more than the Console War right now. So I bet this will happen, because the PS3 is the reason why Blu-Ray is winning. Still though, I think it would be a smart idea for Sony to send Warner Brothers a check to make them go Blu-Ray exclusive. Warner Brothers really should choose a side, their the only neutral studio left.

In preparation for the upcoming Holiday Season console battle, analysts such as Michael Patcher were predicting that Sony would cut the 80GB PS3's price to $499. However, the latest rumor is somewhat surprising. It is the second rumor stating that Sony will not only cut the 80GB PS3's price to $499, but will also introduce a 40GB PS3 SKU for $399. It also says that Sony will bundle Spider-Man 3 on Blu-Ray into one, or maybe even both, of the two SKU's. The rumor comes from Ars Technica, who says it's from their reliable Mole. This "Mole" was right about the Xbox 360 Version of Rock Band coming with a wired guitar instead of a wireless one, and about the HDMI on the 360 SKU's. It also appears that Sony will drop the PS2's price to $99, which isn't that surprising. Any news regarding this rumor could possibly be announced at the upcoming Tokyo Games Show. Although, if the only difference between the 40 and 80 PS3 SKU's would be Hardrive Storage, it would be a better deal to purchase the 40GB PS3, since the Hardrive can be swapped out and be replaced by any standard 2.5 inch SATA HDD. The Spider Man 3 decision, would not be all that surprising either, considering Sony would want to push Blu-Ray as much as possible this Holiday Season, especially after the recent Viacom fiasco. "I agree, the I liked the demo, so I will get this game. Other people I've seen liked the demo to and others didn't like it, so I guess it kind of comes down to your tastes. The reviews seem to reflect that e.g. Edge gave it a 6, but Gamepro gave it 4.5 out of 5; IGN gave it 7, but EGM/1up gave it 8, 8, and 9. Still though, I will be interested in a sequel to this, so hopefully the first sales good. Some people were joking about a Kratos and Nariko crossover thing lol."

"Yeah, when I play the game I'll find out as well, but for right now I am going to trust the developer over IGN and Edge. But yeah I agree, online gaming and/or replay value can help a shorter game. It also has a Hell Difficulty Mode so hopefully that will help it if it is to short, the PS3 NEEDS this game to be good. Otherwise it will only have Warhawk until Ratchet and Folklore come out next month."

"I hope this game is good, it was one of the main reasons I bought a PlayStation 3, although the other reasons were Lair (That turned out great, not) Devil May Cry 4 (Multiplatform), FFXIII, and MGS4. As well as Blu-Ray of course. Hopefully I can finish Metroid before this comes out."

"Third party games just DON'T SALE at all on the Wii! Look at Madden 08 for Wii, I thought that would sale like hot cakes on Wii, but on Amazon the PS3, PS2, and 360 Versions were all CREAMING it! Still though they have Metroid so August will be a good month for Nintendo, although I though Madden Sales for Wii would be higher. As for Microsoft they will do fine, but they should focus on battling Sony. They will have a sales spike with Halo, but it won't be enough to overtake the Wii. But Microsoft really has nothing to worry about this Christmas. As for Sony, they got their sales up, but their still missing their killer app. I feel like Sony is saying: Resistance will suffice for the future until Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy 13 come out. But if we have to wait THAT long for a killer app then that's ridiculous. Still though, if Heavenly Sword lives up to the hype, Sony could have a killer app on their hands. Heavenly Sword scored very well in Play Magazine (10 out of 10) although they love every game, but we'll see. Two small sites: Polish Gamer or someting and Nextgenireland.com gave it 9+'s and Gamepro gave it a 4.5 out of 5. Edge gave it a 6, but they also gave God of War 2 a 7, Bioshock and Gears an 8, and so maybe they were off on this one too? IGN U.K. gave it a 7, but the fact that Red Steel would get a higher score than this (The same author of HS's review gave RS an 8) seems unlikely at worst. I hope Folklore's good to, I LOVED the demo. But still, they need to do something with that 80GB if they want a good Christmas, otherwise it will be 2006 all over again, except for some better games. Hopefully the Ps3's sale's and a nice check from the Blu-Ray Disc Association, combined with 300 sales will make Warner go BR exclusive to help bring this ridciulous format war to a close. I mean honestly, if Warner goes HD DVD exclusive, than this war will last for like another 5 years. Plus Warner sits on the BDA's board of director's, unlike Paramount was, so hopefully they will at least stay neutral. BTW Dialup, I think Europe and Japan would disagree with you."

Still though, it was a victory overall for Sony, it helped bridge the gap in between their sales with the Xbox 360. It was kind of surprising, Canada had the PS3 selling 2000 more consoles than the 360, I thought the U.S. would follow suit. Although Sony still outsells Microsoft in Japan and in Europe they outsell them 3-1,. So technically Sony is outselling them worldwide, but by a small margin."

"I just care about Zelda being in it. From what I heard it seems that the Pokemon Trainer is going to be a love it or hate it type thing. Though if you use one pokemon to long or switch to often, it hurts you so I guess there will be a learning curve there."

"About online play: The President of Nintendo, I forget his name, said he wanted to implement some form of online play. But keep in mind in that same interview he said that SSBB and Metroid would be launch titles. He also said that if Galaxies wasn't a launch title than it would release, at latest 6 months after launch. Then I have read a few interviews where the interviewers asked Reggie about online play in in, and he kind of sidestepped it in all the interviews, which probably means they aren't sure if online play will be able to make it into the final product."

"I don't like Wii Fit overall (I just feel like Nintendo is forgetting about the games), but if they were to incorporate the board into games that would be AWESOME. Uncharted looks interesting, but Little Big Planet could potentially be a system seller. I don't know though, I just think that maybe designing levels would be fun at first but then you could get bored after 15 Minutes. But there is supposed to be a singleplayer mode so that could be interesting. All these delays really stink, other than Grand Theft Auto 4, the DMC4 delay was pretty bad to. I heard they were having trouble porting it to the Xbox 360, but I don't get why they can't just release the PS3 Version in September since that version seems to be on schedule. Then lair was supposed to hold me over to Bioshock, but that got delayed, as well as Heavenly Sword and Uncharted. I have never actually played any MGS or FF Titles before, but those games look so good that I plan on preordering them. I love the Super Smash Series, I have already preordered Brawl. Though I am less excited about Galaxies. Sunshine was kind of a let down, and while all the critics are in love with this game, I just don't know. I want to like it, but I just imagine the same things that affected will Sunshine will happen here and that it will have control problems. I;m not to happy with the lame space theme either. During the Summer there have been no good games to play. but starting with the release of Bioshock, there is going to be a game I want to play every other day. It will just be hard deciding which ones to skip."

"Blue Dragon- FFXIII Lost Odyssey- White Knight Story Enternal Sonanta- Folklore C. Saga- FF Versus 13 Actually PS3 Games that are available now couldn't be done on the 360 because they take up more space than a DVD9, I'm not sure which ones, but I know that Resistance took up 14GB, so technically they could not be possible on the 360 due to disc space, unless they added another disc and a larger price tag. The first half of 2007 has been TERRIBLE for Sony, they had a few good titels: MotorStorm, Virtua Fighter 5, Ninja Gaiden Sigma but that was pretty much it. Looking into the second half the lineup is much better: Lair (If the "improvements" make EGM happy), Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, Folklore (This could be a sleeper hit), Haze, Uncharted, and Unreal Tournament, then add in Time Crisis 4, Tekken 6, Singstar, Hot Shots Golf 5, and the rest of the year is decent, they probably won't get their killer app but they will get good games. Then in 2008 they will have: Little Big Planet, Wardevil Enigma, Monster Hunter 3 (Although this is from Capcom so it will probably go multiplatform, but it is currently exclusive to the PS3), Gran Turismo 5, MGS4, Heavy Rain, FFXIII, FF versus XIII, Killzone 2, and the Resistance Fall of Man Sequel. I hope Nintendo can get the gammes out because I have thought of selling my Wii since the last good game has been Paper Mario back in April. I am spending most of my time on my PS3 and 360."

"Who cares? The best games of 2008 and perhaps some of the best of this generation will only release on the PS3: MGS4 and FFXIII. LA Noire and the new Rockstar Franchise are PS3 exclusives as well. Heavy Rain is exclusive. MGS Online is exclusive. Monster Hunter 3 is exclusive. Wardevil Enigma is exclusive. Time Crisis 4 is exclusive. Tekken 6 is exclusive. Haze and Unreal Tournament 3 are timed exclusives. Guild Wars 2 will most likely be released exclusive as well with Sony's recent partnership with NCsoft. The point I'm trying to make is, is that I disagree how you say the PS3 is like N64, because the PS3 still has third party support, whereas the N64 had nothing. I agree with Sony when they said that Nintendo relies to much on First Party Games and Microsoft relies to much on third party games. My advice to Nintendo would be to let third party developers have their day instead of overshadowing them with the latest Mario Game. My advice to Microsoft would be to try and focus a little more on making First Party Titles (Which are usually the best, Mario, God of War, Halo, you get my point) instead of doing something like paying Namco Bandai for Ace Combat 6 Exclusiveness and Rockstar $50 Million for exclusive episodic content. But really Sony doesn't care about this "console war" since te PS3 is basiclly the reason that HD DVD is dying. Upcoming exclusives this Holiday such as Spiderman 3, Ratatouille, The Simpsons, and Pirates of the Carribean 3 will put the nail in HD DUD's coffin. Plus all the non-exclusives that will probably be released around Holiday such as Transformers and Harry Potter 5 will sell much better on Blu-Ray, as witnessed by 300, even though the HD DUD version had extra features. So really Sony basiclly killed itself in the console race with the Blu-Ray drive which added $250 or so to it's price and delayed launch from March to November, otherwise they could have sold it at $400 at launch and have taken the same losses. But it has won them the format war. Time will tell if they made the right choice."
