It's fast. It's easy. It's free....but it's also CENSORED by "Big Brother" (Product Wiki founders). It happened to me. For starters, let's see if THIS COMMENT is censored.

ProductWiki is new, and is developing quality standards and policies slowly over time. We invite everyone to be a part of that discussion. We do not believe in censorship. It is in the best interest of ProductWiki, that everyone has a fair say as to how the site works and what content is included (or excluded). There was nothing about your situation that a reasonable person would consider censorship. You had added many duplicate, even triplicate products, without any attempt at working with us to improve the quality. We merely removed the duplicates, and attempted to improve the quality of your submissions. That's how a wiki works. You declined our suggestions and did not wish to be a part of a spam free ProductWiki.

I am a local community level publisher with a blog and a vision of indexing a community to completeness, including the products that are available for sale in the community, linked back to the local businesses that sell and service support them. I am wrestling with how to include reviews of products generally as well as those who sell them and support them. Found your effort. Love what I see. Need guidance on how to include your products. Here is what I am proposing to do.

Publish the wiki products and categories in a listing that links them to where they are available in the communities I serve. Create a method whereby as we add products to the community directory that are available include them in the wiki as a community service and encourage local people to submit their evaulation adn reviews and publish this back to the wiki and hence back to the local web site. If that meets with your guidelines.

Ambitious, but I am trying to find ways to make the site truly relevant as we build out our feature set. We publish no news perse, but enhance the visibility of local businesses and products. Is it possible to place a link inside our business directory listing that encourages customers to rate and review the business service or product they purchased from the business. For instance, wood stoves are big in our area, we are adding 20 30 wood stoves and accessories to the local retailers web site. Can we add these products as well to your directory and then create form links that encourage testimonials or critiques of those stoves and then link them as well to the catalogue displaying on the retailers web site.

I know this is a long post, but this is a huge area of investment for us. We are adding ChefMoz Open Directory to our restaurant directory and looking for a way to allow visitors to rate their accommodation experience and now I want to add products reviews as a central core feature. If it is allowed, please review the site www.moncton.localintheknow.com and you will see what we have completed over three years of development to gain a business directory and now we want to publish a product directory that is embedded in our pages and surrounded by local ads sold by local people

Thank you for your efforts. We are a bootstrap busienss but would pay a reasonable license fee to be able to use the content or add to the content in order to comply with theguidelines, or be an enthusiastic volunteer.
