Joost: Now Open

As of October 1st, Joost is now open to the public. Hopefully there will be a way to get this on the iPhone and iPod touch, and on your TV via XBMC. Though you might want to know.

I used Joost when it first launched into Beta, but haven't come back since. I agree that if they can get it on a portable device like the iPhone, or on XBMC that it becomes a lot more compelling. The issue I had with it, is that there just wasn't any content! I think this may be due to the fact that I'm in Canada which is on a low priority for licensing I'm sure.

I had the same thoughts regarding content. I also think the whole downloaded-application thing will die. I think they're going to have to create a browser version if they want to compete because I'm constantly having to download the newest version and it's just annoying.
