Outdated, still useful

I installed two of these remote commanders from Sony today, Compared to the newer remote controls available they are very basic and a little 90's.

Programming was easy, macro's were a little bit more difficult than I feel they shoudl have been,  These are probably great for a living room TV or bedroom but I do feel that its features are far too limited for anything more.  I like the hard buttons for volume and channels and its chunkiness, although this is likely to disagree with the majority of people nowadays.

If you can get one second-hand for cheap, and need something to take up the slack of perhaps 3 maybe four controllers - then this is fine, if you need more control, better macro ability and something smarter for your home cinema, lighting or smarthome control - look elsewhere.
