Drum roll, please....

...and the winner is.....

ajiemar!

While we're not going to be sending ajiemar plantation shutters, a PS3, or world peace, he will be receiving a brand new Nintendo Wii. Congratulations, ajiemar, and thanks to everyone who played.

>>>>THIS CONTEST IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED<<<

On November 25th ProductWiki will celebrate its first birthday. To celebrate this occasion and the upcoming holiday we’ve decided to throw a gift giveaway contest for our community. We’ve come a long way from our early beginnings.

At 11.59pm EST on November 25th, 2006 we will draw one of our eligible community member’s contest entries from a hat (well, not literally, but using some other electronic random method) to win their choice of one of three prizes we have selected.

The point of the contest is two-fold. (1) We want to give something back to our community and think that giving away some of the more popular stuff listed on ProductWiki is a perfect way to do it. (2) We want our community to get involved because this is an interactive contest after all…

The Prizes

If you are selected as the winner of the contest, you will get to choose from the following three prizes (the list is also available here):

1) Nintendo Wii [link]

Approx. retail value: $250

2) Matt & Nat Jorja Fox [link]

Approx. retail value: $125

3) Apple iPod Nano 8GB [link]

Approx. retail value: $250

How to Play

As the name of the contest implies, the theme of this contest is gifts. All you need to do to gain entry is to register (or sign in if you've already registered) for ProductWiki and post a comment at the bottom of this article telling the community what your ultimate gift would be. It can be anything. Be creative!

This comment will give you one entry into the contest. If you decide you would like to make more comments, go ahead, but each subsequent comment will not count as an entry.

Now, if you want to better your chances you can add products to ProductWiki. Each product you add (once you’ve posted your comment) will get you another bonus entry into the contest. The product must include an image and a description. There is no limit to the number entries you can be awarded.

Please contact us at the email listed below to get an official count of your entries into the contest.

Other important stuff

If you are chosen as a winner, we will send you an email confirming your win to the address you registered with the site. You will have 48 hours to respond to claim your prize, and if you do not respond within that time frame, we will draw another entry.

ProductWiki employees are not eligible for the contest. (We may comment just for fun!)

We will require a valid shipping address and contact phone number if you win. This contest is only available for shipping addresses in the US and Canada. We will ship your item as soon as possible, so please allow the standard 6-8 weeks for delivery. This is subject to availability. (We’ll do our best to get you your prize ASAP).

If you have any questions or concerns please email us at contest@productwiki.com.

The contest opens at 3pm EST, November 9th, 2006 and closes at 11.59pm, November 25th, 2006.

Good luck!

My ultimate gift would be a new mac book pro with the core duo. I've never been a mac guy, I've always loved the PC for its game selection, application, and familiarity, but every time I watch on of those Steve Jobs presentations, he makes me feel like i NEED a mac. The software, the design, very very slick. But it's the boot camp option that has made me want it most. The ability to run the Mac OS and software, with a dual boot option for running XP/Vista is exactly what I want. The whole Duo Core processor and 2 gigs of ram make it a great little editing station for all my video that I shoot. If I got a mac book pro for the holidays, I might just convert away from the PC. Of course a wii wouldn't be too bad either :)

Once I'd get all of that hooked to my watercooling system, I'll overclock everything to the verge of stability and enjoy a better-than-bleeding-edge system.

Ok, I know I already wrote my gift, but Jan's comment inspired me. I would like a machine that allows me to "bank time". Say I'm waiting in line and it's boring. I'll fast forward the 2 hours waiting and then use that time on the weekend when I'm doing something fun. No physical laws broken right? Jan, I do love sleep though...

So cool. Some people are dog people. I'm a penguin person. But really, have you ever seen a puppy staring at you with its big blue eyes and not melted in a flurry of "O, its so cute. Lets buy it!" Good idea motorcity!
