Apple has released the latest Macbook Pro with some notable improvements:
- 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn processors
- Macbook Air style large, multi-touch trackpad
- NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT GPU

Ok, so here's my issue. I want to update the wiki with the new information, but I'm not sure to either A) updated the existing Macbook Pro report, or B) create a new Macbook Pro report, and support some sort of versioning (gen1, gen2, etc..) This is a fairly common with other products like this (Apple is annoying for not update model numbers and names, IMO)
A) Update
Pros:
- aggregates common information into one report
- less work
- don't have to worry about coming up with artificial titling convention
Cons:
- can be confusing (which macbook are we talking about?)
- we're combining legacy, out-of-date information with the latest, up-to-datest
- linking to reviews, images can be confusing
B) New
Pros:
- maps more closely to how the "real" world works (the new macbook pro is different than previous)
- reviews, gallery, comments are specific to the specific generation of product
Cons:
- more work
- less reuse of common information across reports
Suggestions? I lean in favour of creating a new report in this case. The form factor has changed enough to make it worthy of a new page.
