Yale: Sounds very strange to me, most USB controllers work just fine without having to install drivers, especially with a modern OS such as Vista, Windows 7 or a distribution of GNU/Linux with recent kernel. Have they ever worked? Do they provide power to devices when you plug them in (eg/ do they charge electronics like your cell phone if you plug them in, or spin up a removable hard drive)? If not, the ports might not even be plugged into the motherboard on the inside of the enclosure! Nov 4, 10
