Yale: Live view (the term for the functionality you describe) is not available on the D3000. It was included as a major feature improvement of the D3100. Personally I would suggest you try to get used to using the optical viewfinder - even though it might be tough because it's pretty small and dim on the smaller bodies up to full frame. It's what is meant to be used on all real cameras, live view is for point and shooters! Jan 28, 11
