This is all very new and exciting for us here. We think we can have something really special if we build a great community and hope everybody can be a part of that. So if you guys have any general comments, complaints or suggestions, feel free to write them down here and we'll do our best to address them. Also for those that learn the site quicker than others, we hope you can help each other out in solving any problems and coming up with best practices etc.

Great - I wish you success.
I posted a thread on the Toshiba 46hm95. I did not post a title (on accident) and notcied that I could not add one by using the 'edit' option. Perhaps you could force a thread title before the post is accepted?
Additionally, the 'file in' options at the bottom of the posted caused a significant amount of right scrolling of the screen. Maybe those default options could be boxed in - instead being allowed to run on to the right forever. I use firefox 1.5 on xp pro.
Thanks - and good luck, from JonMarler

Thanks for your suggestions, we are fixing both the missing thread title issue and the the "file under" scrolling annoyance and it should be up in the next few days.
As for changing a thread title, it is possible (I changed the title of your thread). At the top of the page when viewing a thread you should see "edit settings"; this allows you to change the title of a thread.

What about in other languages such as mine, in french ? Not only for the content, but also for the wiki itself ? Is there any possibility, in the future, that the wiki could be localized, such as for MediaWiki with their System Messages (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Allmessages) ?
Congratulations for this wiki. A good idea and a great job !

We do have plans to make ProductWiki localized for other languages/countries, however not in the immediate future.
We are well aware that wiki idea has been adopted much more rapidly in Europe (France, Germany, and Scandinavia) than in North America, and, thus don't want to exclude people from these areas from contributing to what we want to be an international community.
If you (or anyone else) has any suggestions on the best course of action for localization, please feel free to post it to the site.

You gotta provide a better edit control. I gave up after 10 minutes and probably won't visit this site again because of the poor editor. Too bad, I was looking forward to contributing.

Thanks for your feedback. It would help if you provided some insights into what aspect of the edit control (and which particular editing tool) you found difficult.

I think it would be a good idea to put more emphasis on products on the homepage to grab the attention of users.  For example, have a "Featured Products" section that focuses on a specific product.  A good example could be MP3 players or bicycles, so a comparison of that specific product genre would be readily accessible and more user-friendly for the layman.  I think the average user might be intimidated by all the high-tech discussion threads.  Not to say that those are not an important part of the site, but a lot of users arent interested in such high-tech talk.  I am thinking that to broaden your target audience there should be a variance of options that will peak the interest of the average user.  Perhaps even have a discussion section that is broken into headings.  Anyways, just a suggestion a non-techie guy like me notices.  On the same note, I am sure high-tech users really appreciate the troubleshooting you provide for them.  I think there must be a balance somewhere.
