"A Gallup poll indicated that 45 million of the 96 million men & women over 21 in the U.S. have not seen a dentist in the last two years. Of these, some 30 million have been avoiding the dentist's chair for more than four years and about four million have never even been to a dentist."

Right Now

ya..... I have to say I was part of that second last group up until last year when I tried to get as much dental work done as possible while still under my dad's insurance. Now I have no insurance and well, let's just say I brush my teeth as much as possible to ensure that I don't HAVE to see the dentist anytime soon.

I would go 4 or 5 years without seeing the dentist because of my phobia.  I remember the days of no novacaine and the pain.  I have sensitive teeth where a cleaning can sent a few jolts of pain through me.  Lucklily I have found a hygenist that is excellent and she doesn't chide me if I go a little longer than I should between cleanings -- I always hated the lectures, that would keep me away even longer.

As I get older I realize how important it is to keep my natural teeth as long as I can.  Most of my fillings are older and I have had some teeth break and go through having caps done.  It's expensive but worth it.

That reminds me, I need to make an appointment for a cleaning!
