I've decided to try something new. I'm going to  propose topics for debate over time, which I will pick one at a time to feature in a disscussion. Suggestions on what to debate about would be appreciated from the community.

Possible debate topics:

Global Warming (Climate Change)

Consumption of non-renewable resources

Environmental stuff (deforestation, pollution, ect. Kind of ties into global warming)

The Future

Warfare

Video Game content laws

And a bunch of other stuff I might think of at the spur of the moment.

None of these possible topics are for sure going to be disscussed. Keep the suggestions coming until I pick the first debate topic. It might be a while though, I'm being kept pretty busy with school.

The problems with consumerism (SUVs everywhere) and the problems with counterculture rebels (AdBusters).

Putting two of your suggestions together, Warfare of The Future

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Is foreign aid the right way to "save" Africa? Is "saving" Africa even noble, or just another patronizing policy?

Is China REALLY going to be the next economic superpower?

What about:

Do gun control laws actually reduce gun-related violence?

Should a "gag-rule" be imposed on countries receiving foreign aid? (for clarification, a "gag-rule" pretty much states that countries can receive foreign aid in the form of health care only IF they do not promote abortion and do NOT talk to incoming patients about abortion)

Should a woman's right to choose supercede all else? (I guess this is the "pro-choice vs. pro-life" debate)

I have so many more...should I list them all? :)

I just thought of another one: Which is better, Daily Show or Colbert Nation? (ignoring the fact that they're both awesome)

I'm posting on deforestation. Deforestation is the act of taking out large forests and also overcutting forests. I think that we need to be more cautious about how many trees we're cutting down in forests. We all know that the wood from the trees we cut is made into products we use everyday. However, I think we need to limit how many trees we cut. Besides products we make of wood, think of the things we're obliterating. The Amazon Rainforest is shrinking everyday, and there could be a cure for cancer in the plants for all we know. Another thing is the rare woods we use to make wood projects. If we continue to harvest it, there won't be any left. I know for a fact that there are incredibly expensive woods in India, such as sandal and teak wood. Post your opinions on this, please.

As for non-renewable resources, a big one of course is oil. In fact, as this invaluable resource slims down to where there's only a little left, countries all over the globe will be fighting for it. Here's another fact, back during the days of the Roman Empire, wars were fought over salt, and to think in the present, salt is something we can just take off the shelves of our nearest markets.

Silence told me that he would be driving a hybrid car, as they start faster than gasoline fueled cars, but also they run longer. However, I think they are more expensive. However, I'm glad that scientists are trying to come up with alternative fuels other than gasoline. I know biofuels are already coming into the picture, and I read an article about them, and it said that when burned, biofuels release three times as much carbon dioxide or monoxide than fossil fuels. The article could be wrong however, and biofuels, if they turn out to be a success, can be grown back, as they are a renewable resource, unlike fossil fuels. Post your opinions on this.

What about Apple vs. PC vs. Linux :) and what about Republican vs. Democrat (more of a U.S. thing)

Global Warming should not be much of a debate, but is important. Combing everything into an enviormental view could be a good one.
