Post any questions/comments/problems you may have from following the XBMC setup guide. If you have encountered technical difficulties, we can more likely than not sort them out.
UPDATE: Read the FAQ.

I'm interested in buying an xbox just because of this but gotta question. It talks about the xbox communicating with the computer. Now do I have to run a wire from the xbox to my router or do I have to go out and buy xbox live kit to do this.

You have to connect the xbox directly to the computer in some way (hub, switch, directly with xover, wireless bridge, etc). I would also assume this will essentially ban you from xbox live, is that the case?
I have a question that isn't related to the article but related to modded xboxes. What files are needed by the original xbox dashboard? I know the xboxdash.xbe is the main file, but what else does it use?

Purchasing an xbox live kit is unnessesary. All you need is a plain-old network cable to go from your xbox to your router. Any straight network cable will do (not a cross-over cable), because you have a router. Hope this helps. As a suggestion, I would suggest finding everything you need to do the mod(the game and other things) first, as the xbox will be an easy find.
And yes, it is my experience that any xbox modification will get you kicked off xbox live unless you can cloak the mods. Basically you need a mod-chip that can be disabled and all extra files to be placed on a separate partition. One chip that I have worked with that does this nicely is the xecuter 3.

In regards to the mod and Xbox Live, they can be compatible if you're extremely careful. If you've been on Live with a particular hard drive, then you can't go on Live with any other hard drive or you'll be banned, that's one restriction. And you CAN go on Live with the mod installed. If you have an original game in the system, and turn on the Xbox with the little power button then the mod isn't loaded and you can access Live fine. I'm pretty paranoid though, and find that it'd be possible to forget, or have a friend screw it up. So what I do is just uninstall the mod when I want to play online, and then reinstall it when I'm done.
The exploit save is on the hard drive, and I have the right copy of MechAssault lying around. Uninstalling the mod takes around 30 seconds, and reinstalling takes another 30 seconds. There's no danger in getting kicked off of Live, and it's very little hassle.

I have everything I need to do this down in my basement... This has me pretty jacked up, actually, and I plan on tinkering with it this weekend, but just satisfy my one question... with the XBMC installed I can still get my Halo fix without having to uninstall the mod, yes?
I can't wait too get this running and sit in front of my project mumbling about how it's full of stars.

Yup, you can play Halo 2 online without having to uninstall, just be careful you turn on the Xbox the proper way. To reiterate, have the original game inside the Xbox while the Xbox is off, and then turn the Xbox on with the small power button. Then you'll be fine.
As long as you don't put in a new hard drive of course.

The short answer: yes. You basically have two options:
1) Follow the instructions here to create a wireless bridge out of a router (this is written for Xbox360, but the same principle applies)
OR
2) Buy this wireless adapter for your Xbox.
