As far as I know all tvs nowadays have something called a service menu.  This is for trained technicians and people that like to tinker with things and don't mind possibly messing up their tv set.  It usually involves a complicated sequence of button presses on your remote that varies for each television model, and in that menu there are a lot of options for doing permanent changes to your television.  You can do some serious damage to your set with this menu, and that's why it's not made available to the public.  I'm sure there are some diagnostic information in the menu, so I'd imagine that the amount of time the tv has been on is logged as well and can be viewed there.

So I guess it depends on if you want to take the plunge and go into that menu.  If so gonna have to find out how to access it, and I think that's easier said than done.  Actually, a quick Google search let me find it pretty easily.  Ok here we go

FIRST: go here, and read the disclaimers CAREFULLY.  Remember you can seriously mess up your TV with this!!!  I can't stress this enough.

SECOND: go here for the access code.

Good luck!
