I like silence's idea as well. Good one. I have one too... When you start a disscussion or artical, you should be able to choose your own picture that goes with it.

Good Idea, I hadn't thought of that.

This idea is already in the works. We have an admin-only hack that does just this, and we want to refine it and make it available to the community soon.

Ok, so you can now change the thumbnail picture of articles, links and discussions. To change the thumbnail a section labeled "Change thumbnail" image will show up on the first edit.

Note: the thumbnail settings section won't show up the first time you start an article, but only after you edit it the first time. This will be fixed at a later date.

Now that I've been on the site for a while, a nice option to have would be more customization to the user page. I agree with ruthers, nice new layout.

I don't know.... just something that could differentiate your personal user page from other users. I posted this a while back... I'm not sure I remember what I was thinking. Maybe a customizable layout, like moving the taps list to the side of the screen and making it a long bar, moving your avatar picture to the center, ect.  Just wierd little things that would make your page different, more organic.

Ya, I totally get what you're saying, and it makes total sense. Here's the thing, you can already do all of that stuff on your user page right now. However, it's pretty tough and you need to know some HTML and CSS to modify your page. It's actually the same way that MySpace works, and you can see how customizable those pages are. We're not big enough to have entire sites dedicated towards creating ProdutWiki user layouts though :P

To make a system where it would be easy to move your pages around is actually VERY difficult and would take a lot of programming time.

So how about this for a compromise, I can help and show you how to modify the look of your page, and do it in a way that you'll be able to make changes on your own as well. I have to warn you that it's not going to be super easy, but the good thing is that you'll be able to apply the skills to other things on the web.

That would be great, I'm always up to learning new stuff. If your willing to teach I'm willing to learn, we'll just have to see if I can do all the stuff you mentioned.I did realize that my old request would be very difficult to implement, but it's cool that you can still do it if you have some computer background. (I know absolutely nothing about HTML and CSS)
