Its a solid router and I never have problems with it. Good range, good reception all throughout the house.

My only complaint is that there is NO Apple support for it via Linksys themselves so it takes a bit of router know-how to get it set up on a Mac. However, we did find Linksys support to be helpful even when they couldn't help ;)."

August 5, 2008 at 2:54 pm

"Prior to version 3 I was a die-hard Safari user but with all the improvements in v.3, I am a total Firefox convert. It is WAY faster and uses far less RAM than Safari and is much easier to customize. I like the new ability to tag bookmarks and URLs, especially for sites whose names I never remember, and I like the new smart address bar (the "Awesome bar") - its more intuitive than memorizing urls for me. Tabbed browsing also seems to be tighter as well, consistently opening outside links in new tabs.

The only thing I *don't* like is that I prefer the way Safari shows bookmarks within the browser itself, saving desktop space and all."

Its perfect for getting to know new people because its easy to learn and there is no strategy other than selecting a card you think the judge will pick and arguing for it. :)

Definitely quick and easy - its just cards. Great humor in the game - I was judging the word "Delicious" once and it came down to a decision between "pit bulls" and "mold", which one would be more 'delicious'?. You can imagine how that went. :D"

2. commented on Resident Evil 4 - June 24, 2008 at 7:55 pm

"I have the Wii version; how does the aiming system work on other consoles?"

3. commented on Sega Saturn - June 24, 2008 at 7:53 pm

"I have a Saturn but not many games for it as they were difficult to come by at the time (even worse now). My favorite game by far was "Shining Force III" but I accidentally broke the game disc when removing it from its badly designed case. O_O; The only other game I played a lot of was "Shining the Holy Arc" and a "Nights into Dreams" demo. My friends and I got a LOT more play out of their N64 than this Saturn got when that generation of consoles was current."

4. commented on Castlevania:Dawn of Sorrow - June 24, 2008 at 7:47 pm

"I was a big fan of the Playstation's "Symphony of Night" and was excited to discover that "Dawn of Sorrow" plays very similarly.

I really like the new soul system. The variety of souls allows for different styles of game play (sniping versus melee), though there are a lot of useless souls. To me the soul system replaces the endless variety of the SoN weapons collection, which was full of repeat and useless weapons.

The graphics are clean and sharp and look great on the DS screen with lush details (like snow falling off a van when you jump on it). The 2 screen layout works awesome for having a place to keep your castle map up at all times.

The controls are easy to use and are responsive. The touch-screen is used minimally, some arguing that it is tacked on. I didn't mind having to draw patterns in order to seal bosses and rather thought it made sense.

The details in the game are perfect for players who like to grind and collect EVERYTHING though this isn't necessary. I thought overall the game was a good level of challenging - I only wish it was as long as SoN (no upside-down castle, darn). Minimally re-playable (you can play as Julius once you've beaten the game)."

1. commented on Nintendo Wii - June 24, 2008 at 6:43 pm

"I have had my Wii for half a year now; my last system was a PS1 (before that was a Genesis). While I appreciate the quality of graphics that are available for games today, I am not concerned that the Wii doesn't have the same level of quality, only that the games I get have quality of PLAY.

That said, I do notice that there are too many games that are centered around the sensor capabilities of the Wiimote that are pure novelty and become old after a short while. I do like that some games combine more traditional control use with a few motion elemens, though, like in "Zelda: Twilight Princess", I find it second nature to actually slash to hit with my sword but do more technical things with buttons. Or in "Marvel Ultimate Alliance" you can choose to use motions OR press buttons to fight (here I revert to buttons) - but in this game in particular the ability to rotate the screen with the tilt of the Nunchuck is pure awesome and doesn't distract from the game at all. Other games, like "Resident Evil 4" I think benefit from the ability to aim at the screen.

So far I like the new control scheme possibilities but I think developers need to find a middle ground, designing the controls for intuitive motions and not designing games around the novelty of movement. (if the graphics were there, could you imagine "Halflife 2" on the Wii? :D)"

2. commented on Vibram FiveFingers KSO - June 24, 2008 at 6:10 pm

"This is a heads-up on the size discrepancy for the different models of Vibrams.

In the process of ordering a pair of these for a friend, I ended up with an extra pair that otherwise would of been too small for her. This experience was good in that I was able to see for myself the difference in sizing convention Vibram uses for the KSOs and Flows versus their Classics and Sprints.

Vibram's size chart says I am a 41 in Classics/Sprints and a 40 in KSOs/Flows.

I own a pair of 41 Sprints and they are a *tad* larger than "fits like a glove" - pretty much perfect but with a little bit of give.

I tried on the 40 KSOs and they fit like a skin-tight glove. The 41s, in comparison, were WAY too big and my toes came out of the pockets easily.

I haven't tried on a size larger or smaller in the Sprint model so I am not sure what the fit difference there is but I was surprised that the difference in the KSOs was so noticeable; I totally expected for the recommended size 40 to fit the same way as my 41 Sprints do."

May 30, 2008 at 11:54 pm

"I finally got my pair of Sprints today! Wow, they are SO different from the Surges! The biggest difference is that the toes ARE difficult to get on with the Sprints, whereas I had no trouble at all getting my toes into the slots of the Surge model. I think this is because the thicker neoprene of the Surges (and probably the newer Flow model) helps keep the shape of the toe slots while you put your toes in.

Everything about these shoes are thinner and more flexible than the more heavy-duty Surge (and probably Flow) model(s). Definetly breathable for the ol' feet. I got a pair of Injini socks to wear with these to help keep grit out and to keep my feet warmer in our colder Alaska weather, but even on a windy day in the 50'sF my feet were overheating. The socks fit in the shoes well, though, and prevented the heel from chafing - my only real complaint. I read that other people who have had chafing in the heel covered it with tape and then they were fine. The middle strap creates no chafing at all.

I haven't worn these in water or on any big hikes yet but I am already in love all over again with FiveFingers. Depending on how it goes with heat and debris, I will probably get a pair of KSOs next summer. (At this rate I will be buying a pair a year - geez!) At the moment I have no preference for these over my pair of Surges; its like comparing running shoes to snowboots, two items for different uses.

Oh, one other thing of note: the "red" pair of Sprints, which look orange on the website, are indeed a firetruck red and not orange at all. I was bummed about this, thinking they were on the orange side. Oh well. I certainly didn't get into FiveFingers for their looks. ;)"

1. commented on iTunes - May 27, 2008 at 9:54 pm

"I have been a fan of iTunes for a long while. I don't care about the music store (I am a staunch CD purchaser ;) ) - I just like the way iTunes handles music. The first hurdle most people have issues with is trying to manually organize their music folders that iTunes taps into. I found this creates a mess and that its actually much easier to let iTunes deal with the physical songs while I organize everything in the application itself. The drag-n-drop capabilities, wide variety of ways to organize things and label them, and smart playlists are huge time saver for me."

2. commented on Vibram FiveFingers Sprint - May 27, 2008 at 9:40 pm

"Ruthless813,
No, the material between your toes isn't annoying. I am generally a person who cannot stand things between my toes - I refuse to wear flip-flops for that reason and have never liked toe socks. Though it can take practice for some individuals to get their toes into the "correct" slots with FiveFingers, oddly enough the sensation of there being anything between the toes disappears. I think it may have to do with the way your feet spread naturally when not bound up in shoes - the toes spread a bit more, allowing space for the material of the shoes. I have a pair of the thick Neoprene FiveFingers and half the time I forget I have anything on my feet at all, much less between my toes. :)"
