The 2709m is a high-end computer monitor from HP. Its most important feature is its 27" diagonal size, much larger than most consumer monitor offerings. The 2709m's size, combined with its 1080p resolution, enables two windows to be displayed at the same time and provides obvious benefits for movies and games. High-end specifications include a 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 3ms response time. The 2709m also features built-in speakers and HDMI inputs for use with game consoles, for example. The monitor can be adjusted with tilt and swivel functions, and is wall-mountable using an adapter, not included.

Pros
- This monitor produces rich colors, has superb contrast, no ghosting when playing my favorite games, and it possesses an intuitive menu system. DVDs and games really come alive with a monitor this size! Greatest bang for the buck for the size vs. dollar ratio.
Cons
- It didn't come with a DVI-D cable and my monitor arrived with two dead pixels but they are near the edge of the screen so I don't notice them.

Pros
- large 27" screen size
- full 1080p resolution
- HDMI connectivity
- can be found well under the $499 MSRP
- affordable for such a large display
Cons
- 16:9 aspect ratio means you lose 200 vertical pixels, fine for media but poorer for everything else (surfing the net, productivity software)
- large glossy bezel attracts fingerprints
- cheap stand - wobbly, no height adjustment or portrait mode
- ghosting and screen tearing issues
- uses a common TN panel - poor viewing angles are made worse by such a large display
- poor 1 year warranty compared to most other manufacturer's 3-year guarantees
