The HP Deskjet 1000 is a basic low-cost printer built for document printing. At 4.4 pounds it is useful as a portable printing solution, but it isn't well-suited for high speed or large volume printing.

It is capable of a maximum of 16 pages per minute in black and white, or 12 pages per minute in color. The maximum duty cycle for a month is up to 1000 pages, and it can automatically duplex documents. Document qualities can reach 600 dpi for black ink, or up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi when photo paper is used. This printer connects through a basic USB 2.0 port, and is Energy Star compliant.
