The HP dvd940e is an external CD-R/RWDVD+/-R DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, and dual layer DVD burner that connects to your computer via a USB port. It requires no installation software, includes Nero Suite 6 to facilitate your CD and DVD writing, and SureThing for  labeling.

The dvd940e also features LightScribe, allowing you to burn an image onto the back of the disk when using special LightScribe disks. The burn time for a LightScribe image can be 5-30 minutes. The image is monochromatic, typically on a gold background, however, the new 1.2 standard supported by this drive allows you to use different discs with different background colors.
