HP Elitebook 8730w

The Elitebook 8730w is a series of 17" notebook computers from Hewlett Packard. Processors available are Intel Core 2 Duo dual-core chips, as well as Intel's Core 2 Extreme quad-core processor.  The standard display is 17" LCD with a resolution of 1680x1050.  An enhanced display is available with a resolution of 1920x1200. The standard graphics adapter is an ATI Mobility FireGL V5725, featuring 256MB of dedicated memory, with an optional webcam.  Two other graphics adapters are available for this line:  the NVIDIA Quadro FX 2700M, featuring 512MB of dedicated memory, and the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700M, featuring 1GB of dedicated memory.  Wi-Fi networking is included, using the 802.11b/g standard; A and N compatibility are available, using Intel's Link 5300, and Bluetooth support is optional as well.  The optical drive is a LightScribe DVD+/-RW SuperMulti with Double Layer support, and a Blu-ray ROM DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL Drive is available as well.  The operating system is Windows Vista Business (32 or 64-bit) and upgrades to Vista Ultimate (32-bit) are available. The option to downgrade from Vista to Windows XP is also available. The 8730w uses HP's 3D DriveGuard, which lessens the impact of shock on the hard drive.  The notebook also uses HP's ProtectTools Security Manager, a suite of security tools for airtight business-level protection.  The standard battery is a 8-cell LiOn.  The weight on the average configuration of the Elitebook 8730w series is 7.5 lbs.
