Like the other two laptops in the Envy second generation, the new Envy 17 3D comes equipped with an Intel Core i5-2430M processor, updated from the original Intel Core i7 Q720 processor. Additionally, a new design intended to visually incorporate the Beat Audio features of the laptop have been added. This includes an analog volume dial with red accents at the top right of the keyboard and a matching red strip around the keyboard. However, unlike the other two laptops, the Envy 17 3D is 3D enabled and comes with a pair of active shutter 3D glasses. Paired with the other features of this series, as well as its glossy 1920x1080p high resolution screen, this laptop is able to provide high level media performance.
