The Pros:Network setup for use as a networked device without the need for an online PC host, is mostly automated and as simple as possible. Setup on a PC USB connection is plug-and-play, no CD required. Scanning documents creates extra sharp and clear reproductions.
The Cons:No color printing, black and white only. Larger footprint than other MFP units in the same class. HP scanning software doesn't allow previewing with crop.
The HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf is a low cost all-in-one solution for printing, copying, scanning and faxing. It can print up to 19 pages per minute at normal quality, and has a maximum print quality setting of 1200 dpi.

The unit can print to page sizes up to Legal and as small as index cards, as well as a number of envelope standards. This printer can also handle transparencies, labels, and card stock. The scanner can function like a standard flatbed, or the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) can be used to allow the unit to automatically line the document up for printing or scan a number of documents at once in sequence. The fax can send at speeds of up to 3 seconds per page, and can keep up to 500 pages in memory. Standard fax functions like speed dial, auto redial, and fax forwarding are included. This unit connects via a standard USB port or or to a 10/100Base-T ethernet port, and faxes with a regular telephone port. This unit is Energy Star qualified.
