The HP Mini 311 is a compact, lightweight, and ultra-portable Netbook built for accessing email, shopping, social networking, and research. It features an 11.6” screen (1366x768 pixels), a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, and an nVIDIA ION graphics card. Included with the Mini are built-in VGA and HDMI ports—allowing it connectivity to a larger external monitor or even a high-definition television set. In fact, critics rave that the Mini 311 handles “1080p video awesomely,” although we ourselves have yet to confirm. Additional features include a built-in webcam, a 160GB HDD, an integrated 5-in-1 digital media card, and WiFi/Ethernet connectivity. Ultimately, the HP Mini 311 certainly isn’t a powerhouse, but it is by far one of the cheapest intensive-graphics-compatible Netbooks available in the marketplace. The HP Mini 311 begins shipping in on September 23rd (2009) with Windows XP; but a Windows 7 version can be purchased after October 18th for an extra $75.00.
