The Pavilion dv5t series is a line of mid-range 15.4" LCD notebook computers from Hewlett Packard. Processor options are based around Intel's Core 2 Duo processors. The display is a widescreen 15.4", with a resolution of 1280x800 dpi on the basic model. HP's Infinity design, which stretches the display glass to the edge of the display area, is an optional upgrade, as is an upgrade to a resolution of 1680x1050 dpi. The basic graphics adapter is an integrated Intel GMA X4500, and upgrades to the NVIDIA GeForce9200M 256MB or the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M 512MB are available as well. The operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium (32 or 64-bit), with the ability to upgrade to Vista Business or Vista Ultimate. Wireless connection capabilities are included, using the 802.11b/g standard, with options for Bluetooth and Intel's WiFi Link 5100AGN available. The optical drive is a SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support, with options for Lightscribe and an HP Blu-Ray ROM available as well. A built-in TV tuner is included, with remote control and dual headphone jacks. HP Quickplay software is also built-in, allowing for 1-click playback of media files. 4 USB ports are included, as well as an IR port, and HDMI 1.3 port, and a VGA output. The included battery is a 6-cell LiOn, with the option for a High-Capacity 6-cell LiOn available. The weight of the dv5t on an average configuration is 5.83 lbs

Pros
- good video device options (easy to tailor to a wide variety of uses)
- good variety of high power processors
- screen resolution can be improved to 1680 x 1050
Cons
- 1280 x 800 resolution is beginning to get old
- quite heavy - not great for transportablility or mobile computing
