The HP Pavilion dv8 is a Core i7powered, 18.4" laptop released by HP in October 2009 alongside the Windows 7 operating system. It features an Intel Core 7 processor (up to 1.73GHz), up to 8GB of RAM, and up to two 500GB SATA hard-disc drives (for a total of 1TB). It is especially geared for high-resolution video processing, as it incorporates an nVidia GeForce GT230 graphics card with 1GB of vRAM, a TV tuner, and even a Blu-ray disc player. On the audio side, it utilizes Altec Lansing speakers with an integrated subwoofer and Dolby home theater technology to lace video content with its original, non-altered audio track. Select models also host a Digital Fingerprint reader for enhanced security.
