HTC Thunderbolt
$250.00
Released March, 2011
The Pros:MicroSD card slot for storage expansion - 32GB card pre-installed for an impressive 40GB total capacity. 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. 8GB of internal storage.
The Cons:Launching without latest version of Android (2.2 vs 2.3). High price point - $250 on a 2-year contract. Nothing so innovative - just a speed bump on previous designs.

A 4.3-inch high-resolution capacitive touchscreen is included for vivid graphic display, capable of shooting and playing back HD video content through an 8-megapixel camera. A twin-LED flash is available to supplement lighting in darker settings, while a 1.3-megapixel camera is fixed on the front of the unit for video-conferencing needs. Viewed as a direct competitor to the Apple iPhone 4, the Thunderbolt also boasts "4G" wireless standard technology, with HTC claiming a marginal increase in data speeds as compared to 3G models. Two microphones are provided with noise-cancellation technology for capturing pristine voice memos and other field-style recordings, while full FM radio integration enables users to hone in on local stations wherever they go. In addition, the Thunderbolt comes equipped with a pop-out media stand that can be engaged to lock the device in landscape mode for optimal content playback.
