Not yet formally introduced but planned for release in early October 2008, the HTC Viva is a toned down version of the current Touch 3G. With no 3G connection, the Viva is planned to be a quad-band GSM/EDGE only. With the same 2.8" QVGA screen, 802.11 b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and GPS/AGPS as found on the Touch 3G, the other components found in the Viva are significantly less impressive. Featuring a 201MHz TI OMAP processor, 128MB of ram, a 2MP camera, the Viva only comes in a single colour: "storm grey". Planned as a value version of the Touch 3G, the Viva is expected to be released unlocked for $299.

Pros
- still has the same decent screen, GPS, and majority of connectivity options
- amazing phone for the undemanding consumer
- is sold for a competitive price without any contractual agreements
Cons
- similar outward appearance may confuse unwary customers as to the severely lower performance
- much poorer internal componentry compared to the Touch 3G
