The HTC Touch is an advanced mobile phone running Windows Mobile 6 featuring a touch screen interface that competes with the Apple iPhone. It uses a touch interface called "touch flow" where the user can access different menus with left/right, and up/down gestures (a swiping motion). It includes a 2 megapixel camera, integrated Bluetooth and WiFi, and features a soft-touch finish.

Features

  • Touch screen interface with "touch flow" gesturing UI
  • runs Windows Mobile 6
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • integrated Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity
  • soft-touch finish
  • UK version: tri-band GSM
  • Canadian version: CDMA - EVDO (Telus, Bell), GSM (Rogers)
  • US version: unknown, to be release in late 2007

The HTC Touch was released in the UK in June 2007 will soon be release in the US and retails for around $600.

Note that the CDMA version is a different phone, it is faster and has more memory. Also to note is that Canadian CDMA versions do not have WiFi, however the GSM (Rogers) version do (but is the slower model).

From the CNET video, the O/S looks very slow to respond. Sluggish.

The US version of the Touch is actually the CDMA-capable HTC Vogue, but it's been relabeled as the Touch for branding. As the Vogue is faster, the US version of the device is likely more responsive than the original GSM Touch reviewed by CNET.  The US HTC Touch is available from Sprint and can be purchased now.
