The IBM BladeCenter® HS12 is a uniprocessor blade released in 2008. It comes at the lowest end of the IBM BladeCenter server portfolio. Its selling point is reasonable power and easy integration which makes it suitable for small businesses that are cost conscience. It offers low cost single and dual core processors, and has storage flexibility: it has two internal hard disk drives on blade, and supports iSCSI, SAS or FC SAN externally, which is quite a variety of formats to support. It also has operating system flexibility: it supports all oRed Hat Linux®, SUSE Linux, Microsoft® Windows Server®, Windows® Small Business Server and IBM OS 4690, which is quite an impressive selection considering that it is larger than even some of the more expensive servers in the IBM BlaceCenter server portfolio. This machine also rivals that of its elder siblings in terms of manageability features.
