iLive IT818B

The iLive IT818B is a top of the line 5.1 surround sound iPod docking station with remote control, AM/FM radio and slot-loading DVD player. The audio system comes in a soundbar design and offers full 5 + 1 channel audio with SRS TruSurround HD4 and bass provided by two internal subwoofers(external sub can be hooked up if needed). The usual host of docking features is also included such as a retractable motorized docking tray, automatic iPod charging and the ability to control the iPod with the unit itself and the included remote control. The alarm clock/radio has direct access tuning and 10 station preset memory, and can be used like a normal clock radio with the advantage of being remote controlled as well.

Details

Hooking up to a TV is possible by using the S-Video and Composite Video outputs so you can watch videos and view photos from your iPod on the big screen. You can also connect another audio source such as an mp3 player or a cd player as well as connecting your tv, which the 5.1 surround comes in handy with. Wall mounting and soundbar design make this suited for home cinema and it can be used solely for that purpose, although the iPod docking and charging and clock radio with remote is a nice bonus. If you want the same functions in a less expensive unit with 3.1 audio and virtual 5.1 surround, you can always go for the iLive IT319B.
