Insignia NS-32E570A11

$700.00 Released January, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Decent/average speakers for a flat panel. Pretty loud/clear with "game" mode ON. Lightweight. Slim. 120hz refresh rate (though this may be what causes such terrible input lag in games like Ikaruga).

The Cons:Disappointing speakers. No firmware update available (as of 07-Oct-2010). No A/V (Composite) Inputs.

The Insignia NS-32E570A11 is a 32” LED/LCD HDTV set featuring an ultra-slim, 1-7/8” deep design. As an upgrade from the pure LCD NS-32L450A11, the part LED NS-32E570A11 HDTV unit sports a greatly improved contrast ratio up to 80,000:1.

More importantly, the set adds along Insignia Motion 120Hz technology, which can process high-definition Blu-ray/DVD disc content much more accurately with reduced blurs. Unfortunately, the set sacrifices a composite input, although it does still include a USB interface for connecting a digital camera; an HDMI input for Blu-ray/DVD disc content; and a PC port for using the set as a computer monitor. Included also are integrated HD speakers designed to output theater-like surround sound.

Turning on an Xbox 360 (connected via HDMI) before turning on the HDTV results in an image that is horizontally distorted to the left. The HDTV must be turned off, and then turned back on, to correct.

  • -2

Bad input lag, even with "game" mode ON and dynamic contrast/post-processing disabled (as much as the OSD menu allows for, anyway).
