The Integra DTC-9.8 is a preamplifier/processor (pre/pro) separate version of the Integra DTR-8.8 a/v receiver. It handles the switching, audio decoding, video upscaling, but does not include an amplifier component. Instead audio is routed at line-levels out to both unbalanced RCA outputs, and balanced XLR outputs. The DTC-9.8 needs to be coupled with an amplifier to function as part of a home theater. The Integra DTA-9.4 is a 7-channel amplifier that compliments this pre/pro well, but any amplifier (or set of amplifiers) can be used. The DTC-9.8 features many high-end componentry including HQV Reon video chip for upscaling video sources to 1080p, and Burr-Brown 192 kHz/24 bit DACs.
