I think I've found my next CPU when it becomes available (and when I'm willing to spend the $$$).

Yeah. Beats the heck out of an AMD FX-62 which is about $1200-$1300 in Canada. I'm expecting the E6600 to be about $380 CAD, unfortunately.

Just looked around, Neoseeker says it will be about $368 at launch. Changed for now until it's released to most retail stores in 3 days, so, we'll see.

It's amazing how Intel has knocked it out of the park with their Conroe architecture in terms of price/performance ratio. Who would have guessed after AMD trounced them with the 64 over the P4? Big kudos to Intel, and it'll be great to see how AMD answers back, because it's obvious that their latest offerings have been totally outclassed.

AMD is lowering their prices an amazing amount .. X2 3800+ is suppose to come in at about $140 as far as I have heard. I remember hearing that the AMD X2's will have their prices slashed 50-60% where as AMD was only hoping they'd have to go for 40-50%, Single core AMD 64's were going to be slashed 20-40%, now that's bumped up to 40-50%, and the Semprons are going to be slashed 20-30% from 10-20%. This is all off the top of my head, so I might be a little bit off. I would definitely buy a AMD X2 3800+ at $140, seeing as an AMD 64 3500+ price is sitting at around $135 Canadian. Conroe should be making its way to more stores and e-tailers today.. Haven't seen any. Unfortunately Dell and HP will probably be getting most of the stock, meaning that Conroe will be in low supply when there's a high demand for them. I won't be surprised if the prices for Conroe and Allendale skyrocket.
