The Intel Core 2 Duo Computer Processor is a new line of dual core processor that encompasses both power and energy efficiency. It uses new 64-bit architecture which enables twice the amount of information that the CPU can process at a time. It also features a Digital Thermal Sensor that is embedded in the CPU that measures the temperature to optimize the operation of the processor and system fans. The Core 2 Duo series also have Wide Dynamic Execution which improves the execution speed and efficiency of the processor, and with the exception of the certain processors in the series, most Core 2 Duo Processors have Virtualization Technology which allows one computer to operate as multiple “virtual” platforms.
