Introduced in December 2008, the Core 2 Quad Q9000 is a quadcore mobile CPU from Intel. Featuring a clockspeed of 2GHz, 6MB (2 x 3MB) of L2 cache and a 45W TDP - only 10W higher than Intel's mainstream mobile dual core offerings - the Q9000 is the least expensive mobile quadcore Intel has introduced. Especially important for professionals that require a high amount of processing power, the quadcore design of the Q9000 allows for unparalleled multi-threaded performance in a mobile package.

Pros
- least expensive mobile quadcore from Intel
- great for mobile professionals that need the power of a desktop computer
Cons
- not required or worth the added price for the majority of consumers
- each core is significantly slower than a similarly price or even cheaper dual core
- hotter and more power hungry than 35W dual core processors
- not many current day programs can make use of more than 2 cores

Pros
- least expensive mobile quadcore from Intel
- .
Most modern computers run more than one process at once; background & foreground. Assume that the op sys + multi-CPU allows these very many processes to proceed simultaneously; not shared sequentually on the one-only CPU.
- great for mobile professionals that need the power of a desktop computer
- only 10W hotter than Intel's 35W dual core offerings
Cons
- not required or worth the added price for the majority of consumers
