The Intel P43 Chipset is a motherboard northbridge chipset that was released in June,2008. It introduces a new genre of cost friendly motherboards that provide Windows Vista support and added functionality. Intel claims the P43 Chipset delivers maximum performance to mainstream platforms. The P43 Express Chipset enables FSB (Front Side Bus) support for 1333MHz processors; and in many cases up to 1600MHz is available through system overclocking. The FSB support included with the LGA 775 socket means full CPU functionality for all Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, and Celeron processors. It also supports the additional 45nm Intel multi-core (dual and quad core) processors. It provides PCI-Express x16 Gen. 2.0 support; and when the P43 Chipset is configured with a graphics card and adequate memory amounts it improves in overall speed and performance. The P43 Chipset is also integrated with Intel's Fast Memory Access and Intel Turbo Memory technology. The chipset also enables support for DDR2 and DDR3 dual channel memory, Intel high-definition audio, Intel Matrix storage technology with full SATA 3GB/s utilization, Intel Remote Wake technology, eSATA, and Intel Quiet System technology.
